YouTube Video Update - Walkersville Southern Railroad Train Ride
On August 12, 2023, just one day before my 27th birthday, my parents and I visited the Walkersville Southern Railroad in the rural town of Walkersville, Maryland to take a ride on a short-distance tourist train. While making a reservation, we chose to ride inside an air-conditioned parlor car for the best of our comfort on a hot and humid summer day. As the train begins its journey, you’ll see a few pieces of railroad maintenance-of-way equipment, level crossings, farms, fields, neighborhoods, and a river. You’ll also hear the horn from the locomotive as well as the one mounted on the caboose during the return trip. If you live close to Walkersville or if you’re planning to visit a family or friend living there, then the tourist train is the best attraction in the area.
